6 MAGICAL DAYS South Australia

VICTOR HARBOR, GOOLWA, KANGAROO ISLAND, MCLAREN VALE, HAHNDORF

Day 1 (D)

Sit back enjoy the views, whilst travelling along the Western Freeway to the South Australian border. We will stop for lunch & breaks. Crossing the border into Sth. Australia, past Bordertown & Tailem Bend. Making our way, through to the Fleurieu Peninsula & Victor Harbor. On arrival at the motel, time to refresh before dinner.

Day 2 (B,D)

After breakfast we make our way to Goolwa. Here we will board the “Cockle Train” as it  travels along the spectacular coastline to Victor Harbor. Visit the train museum, then board your coach, headed to the town CBD.  Here, you will board Horse drawn carriage to Granite Island.  Enjoy lunch at the cafeteria. After lunch, board the carriage & return to the mainland.  On board the coach, we head to Goolwa, for an informative 2-hour cruise. Depart Goolwa Wharf, travel through the Barrage & Lock, down to the Murray Mouth, with views to the Coorong sand dunes. At Murray Mouth go ashore for a walk (subject to water levels & weather).  Afterward, its back on the boat  to Goolwa for some free time before heading to your motel. 

Day 3: (B,L,D)

Early morning pick- up & scenic coach tour to Cape Jarvis. Here, we board the Sea Link Cruise, for a 45-min. crossing to Kangaroo Island. On arrival, re-board the coach for some amazing destinations. Onto Clifford's Honey Farm. Enjoy an informative talk & tasting.   Sample some homemade honey ice-cream, or try the honey beauty products. Next up, Vivonne Bay Bistro, set on a 260-hectare bush property, enjoy a delicious two course lunch. After lunch visit at Seal Bay Conservation Park, a beach walk, with a Park Ranger, amid a colony of wild & rare Sea Lions, native birds, &   raptors. Now, we head back to our accommodation & refresh for dinner.

Day 4 (B,L.D)

After breakfast, we head to Emu Ridge and the Eucalyptus distillery. Here you can taste & test.  Next, we visit the centre of Kangaroo Island & Wildlife Park. Feed the Kangaroos, have your photograph taken with a koala, a guided tour of this wildlife & bird park. Onward to Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, followed by a picnic After lunch, travel to the western point of the Island, Flinders Chase National Park. This, is one of   Australia's largest & earliest conservation parks. Enjoy the breath-taking views, the unique trees, plants, coastal scenery & the   rugged Coastline. Walk around down the boardwalk to Admirals Arch. The boardwalk will take you down the rugged cliff face, to see “The Arch”. View the natural nursery, a safe haven, for New Zealand fur seals, who can be seen swimming, playing in the waves, or resting on the rocks. This is the most amazing view and walk, time seems to stand still and yet pass so quickly whilst relaxing, taking in the view.   After our scenic views, it’s off to remarkable rocks for another shorter boardwalk tour to the most amazing views.  Time to return to the motel, with free time, before dinner.  

Day 5; (B)

Early morning breakfast and start, with a return trip to Jervis bay aboard the Sealink Ferry. On arrival board the coach and make our way to McLaren Vale.  Here we will take some time to visit Fru (Menz)Chocolate (originally known as Meadlows chocolates).  Free time to roam the lovely town, & enjoy lunch. After lunch, we make our way to Wira Wira Cellar Door. Now, time to head Hahndorf. Here we will book into our overnight accommodation. Tonight, you will be spoiled for choice on your venue for an evening meal. Hahndorf offers quite many restaurants, none of which, will disappoint.  For a traditional Bavarian style meal, you cannot go past the German arms Hotel.  The food here is plentiful and traditional not to mention tastes delicious.

Day 6: (B)

After, a buffet breakfast with gorgeous scenery, we board our coach. Today we will be heading home. A stop in Hahndorf is never complete till you have been to Berenberg for some local jams or condiments.   After this we make our way home stopping on the way for morning tea around Keith, where you can take some picture of the local White Kangaroos.  For lunch we will stop en-route to home, arriving home mid evening.
